Here’s How to Make Money as a Blogger

Blogging takes time, dedication, and hard work. However, if you’re willing to put in the effort, it can bring you a ton of opportunities and yes, even money. First things first, understand that blogging won’t earn you money overnight. It’s a journey, not a sprint. But if you stick with it and keep pushing forward, you’ll start to see the results. Here’s how you can get started on your blogging journey.

Find Your Niche

The first step with any kind of business or side hustle is to find your niche, and blogging is no different. Have a think- what are you passionate about? What do you have knowledge or expertise in? It’s impossible to come up with a completely unique idea, but you will need to know what kind of direction you plan on going in. It could be fashion, food, travel, or technology, or you could blog about your life. You could blog about a range of things, but ideally choose topics that the readers you’re aiming to get will be interested in too. Many topics work well together (eg, finance and travel, travel and fashion, fashion and beauty, technology and finance etc) Go with something that you genuinely enjoy writing about as you need to stay passionate about it

Create Great Content

Once you’ve found your niche, it’s time to start creating content. Content is king in the blogging world, so be sure to write helpful, informativ  and engaging posts that resonate with your audience. Share your personal experiences, tips and insights too, as your main standout feature to make you unique is you! Telling things through your eyes and from your perspective can be really engaging to an audience and will keep them coming back for more.

Take High Quality Photos

Visuals are just as important as written content, so it’s well worth investing in a good camera and learning some basic photography skills. You dont need to spend much when it comes to the upfront costs of starting a blog, but if you want to do well and create excellent work from the get go then this is a good investment- you could always look into online loans. That way you could afford a good camera and a short photography course, and your blog’s earnings over time will pay that back. Photography is a great hobby within itself and can be a fantastic skill learned from blogging.

Invest in a Good Design

The design of your blog plays a crucial role in attracting and retaining readers, so go a step further than the basic templates you get with Blogger or WordPress. You can find some really beautiful ones for just a few pounds on Etsy, and once installed make your website look professional and personal. A well designed blog can make a great first impression and keep visitors coming back for more.

Promote Your Blog

Once you’ve created great content and designed your blog, it’s time to promote it. Use social media platforms like Instagram, Twitter and Facebook to share your posts and engage with your audience. Join online communities and forums related to your niche and participate in discussions. Collaborate with other bloggers and influencers in your industry. Avoid being spammy on social media or online with your blog link as this can simply put people off.
